LET THE HEALING EFFECTS OF LARCH WORK ON YOU!
Since time immemorial, larch resin has been used against coughs and externally for ear inflammations. „Venetian turpentine,“ obtained from the wood, was used in folk medicine externally for rubbing against nerve pain, and internally for stomach and intestinal issues, or gall bladder and kidney colic. Crushed bark was used externally to treat skin diseases, and needles boiled in vinegar were used against toothache.
When the resin evaporates from the wood, larch strengthens our natural immunity, and its scent is suitable wherever space needs to be disinfected. It cleanses and strengthens the respiratory tract, helping with colds, bronchitis, and sinusitis.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SIBERIAN LARCH AND EUROPEAN LARCH?
Both Siberian Larch and European Larch come from the same scientific classification: class Conifers, order Pinales, family Pinaceae, genus Larch. The second botanical name always identifies the location of its occurrence, i.e., its origin – European Larch grows in Europe, and Siberian Larch grows mainly in Russia’s Siberian region, but also in Mongolia and China. Therefore, they are trees of the same genus, with the same resin composition, resistant to mold, fungi, and UV radiation. It is true that Siberian Larch grows in a harsher climate, thus grows slower and therefore has better structural properties. It is also true that due to its growth in harsher climatic conditions, it has a slightly higher resin content, which causes the wood’s resistance outdoors to mold, fungi, and UV radiation that decompose the wood cells of larch, but not more than 10-15%.
From the above information and our long-term experience, it follows that the difference between European Larch and Siberian Larch is about 10-15% in its lifespan. Therefore, you need not worry about using larch from our Czech forests for your exterior project at a significantly more reasonable price.
We process and supply material from European Larch from the Kokořínsko, Křivoklátsko, Brdy, and Jeseníky localities. Therefore, we are confident that thanks to the quality, due to the origin of the wood from these localities with suitable subsoil for the growth of these trees, quality technological production processes, and proper storage of finished products, we can supply you with material in the execution you desire for completing your project.
Larch is a scenic wooden material. The cellular structure of larch is precise and different from other tree species. Larch does not absorb moisture in the same way as, for example, pine. Larch is very resistant to mechanical wear. A characteristic feature of larch is the strongly developed differences between winter and summer wood growth. In the heart of the trunk, reddish-brown wood alternates with light brown wood, giving larch a unique visual texture that caresses the eyes of any lover of natural materials. When larch is exposed to weather, it gradually turns grey and minimally changes its structure for a long time.
Therefore, rhombus-profile larch facade boards are suitable as cladding, not only for timber buildings. You can use them for houses built from literally any building material. Due to the fact that wooden larch boards are attached to the house using a supporting framework, a ventilated gap is created between the wooden cladding and the building itself. For both masonry and wooden houses, a ventilated facade is a safe solution because even if humidity increases somewhere in the wall, the moisture can evaporate from the structure through the ventilated gap.
